09 Feb Cherry Hinton Hall Opening Event
Thursday evening was the grand opening of the refurbished building at Cherry Hinton Hall and the first event to be held in the new Okes Hall. We were delighted to welcome so many of the people who had been involved in the planning, design and construction of the new facilities. They were accompanied by other local community representatives, Cambridge school heads, relocation agents and colleagues from International Schools Partnership. We were particularly honoured to be joined by The Mayor of Cambridge, Cllr George Pippas. The Year 5 & 6 children expertly conducted tours of the building and it was pleasure to receive feedback about our amazing new learning environment, and also about how well behaved and confident the children are. We were joined by some senior students from The Temple, who contributed to the smooth running of the evening.
Mrs Mills said “The newly refurbished Cherry Hinton Hall gives our students the opportunity to achieve amazing learning in an inspiring environment. We are all thrilled by our wonderful new building.”
In his speech, ISP Managing Director, Steve Brown commented “I am very proud that the new CIS building has become part of the local community.”
The Mayor of Cambridge also remarked on how excellent the new facilities were and, that having been on the planning committee which approved the plans, he was delighted to have the opportunity to view the finished building and be involved in the opening event. We would like to express a big thank you to our caterers Funky Feasts who provided us with some amazing nibbles. From the feedback received, a very good evening was had by everyone who attended and the refurbished building is certainly making a great impression on everyone who visits.
