29 Mar Duke of Edinburgh – practice expedition
Over the weekend of the 23rd and 24th March, four CIS pupils undertook their qualifying expedition for their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. This involved the pupils undertaking a fully self-contained walking expedition over two days, camping out overnight. The pupils were required to carry all of their own equipment, including food, tents, and clothing. The weekend was a huge success, helped in part by the fantastic weather. Throughout the expedition the pupils chatted, sang and laughed their way from start to finish. The group had the aim of looking at the impact on the environment made by humans. They collected rubbish left over the two days and will give a short presentation on this during assembly. Well done to all the participants for such an excellent weekend, and thank you to the staff who help make the weekend run.
