School Day

We understand that parents have busy lives and the nursery is open from 8.00am until 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

The Day is structured into two halves:

Morning session – 8:00 – 12:30

Afternoon session – 13:00 – 17:30

We recognise that routines are an important for young children and they are a source of learning which is just as important as their exploration of play materials. They help the children settle quickly into the nursery environment and feel safe and secure.  The wellbeing of your child is of paramount importance to us.

Nappies are checked and changed regularly as part of the daily routine and details recorded in day books.  Branded nappies and creams are provided and we are happy to discuss any specific requirements for your child.

The nursery day at CIS is structured to include a free flow activities and focused activities. These are designed to prepare your child for school life.

The purpose of free flow activities is to support and encourage children to make their own choices and to be independent learners. Children learn best when they are given autonomy to make choices.

Focused activities are planned activities to meet children’s individual developmental needs. These activities are planned across all seven areas of learning within the EYFS and take place both inside and outside.
