Much of Nick’s teaching and leadership experience has been in international and bilingual schools over many years including senior positions in Chile, Thailand and Greece. Nick joined ISP in August 2015 after several years as the Headmaster of Newcastle Under Lyme School in the UK. Nick graduated from Cambridge University where he studied History.
Mrs Mills joined CIS from being the Principal of Laude British School of Vila-real, a member of one of the largest school groups in Spain, in September 2017.
Previously, Mrs Mills has worked in several UK based boarding schools, including Wycliffe College in Gloucestershire, where she was Housemistress of a senior boys’ boarding house and teacher of Modern Foreign Languages and as Head of Boarding at Haberdashers’ Monmouth School for Girls.
Mrs Mills was born in Ely and was a pupil at King’s Ely. She is very familiar with Cambridge and the surrounding area, having trained to be a teacher at Homerton College, University of Cambridge.
Like many of our students at CIS, Joel grew up overseas and attended an international school in Spain. He went to university in the US to study education before moving to Kenya, where he started his career at an international school as a Maths and Science teacher. Joel joined the CIS team in 2010 and has taught various subjects and held a variety of roles, including being a form tutor. He is currently Head of Maths and Head of Senior School.
Amanda is from East Yorkshire and studied History at the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne followed by a PGCE at Charlotte Mason College in Cumbria. She has taught in a number of UK primary schools as well as working as a teacher trainer in The Gambia, West Africa. Following an MA in Education from the University of East Anglia, Amanda spent a number of years working for a consultancy and charity as a coordinator of overseas education projects. Amanda joined CIS in 2013 where she has been a class teacher in the Junior Department. She is currently Year 6 teacher and Deputy Head of the Primary School.
