Sports Day

Thursday 20th June all CIS pupils, including the Year 11s, descended on the field to participate in sports day.  It was wonderful to see all the pupils splitting into their houses and gearing up for a full day of fun and competition.  Kicking off with an Endball tournament where all teams played each other the short matches were played in great spirit and support.  Even the staff joined in some matches!!  Tired but happy the pupils moved on to the athletics field events; javelin, discus, shot and long jump.  It was great to see so many excellent attempts in each event and new school records being set.  A BBQ lunch followed and a time to be social and relax before the afternoon activities.  Back into house teams for a dodgeball tournament while those waiting to play tried a game of blind football.  The final events of the day were the athletics track events.  With an 800m, 200m and a 100m (for those who wanted it) the pupils were shattered but having had a great day.  While the scores were calculated each house entered a relay team to compete against a staff team, great fun had all round.  The final result was incredibly close, Odysseus finished in 3rd, Achilles in 2nd and winning by two points only was Athena! Well done to all pupils and staff who participated and help with running and organising.  Also thank you to all parents to supported through the day.
