‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’

On Wednesday 19th June, the school hall was transformed back in time to 1845, small town America.  All the Key Stage 3 students, with the addition of 3 GCSE Drama students, took to the stage in an adaptation of ‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’ by Mark Twain.  Since the beginning of term the whole cast had been rehearsing tirelessly to bring something captivating and absorbing to the CIS stage and they did not disappoint.  The audience were entertained with the escapades of Tom and his gang and followed his adventures in various scenes of high drama and tension.  The cast were excellent in their various roles. Special mention must go to Boaz and Emma, demonstrating trust and friendship in their roles as Tom and Huck;  Victoria who played the tender-hearted but very strict Aunt Polly with energy and good-humour and to the enthusiastic and very humorous portrayal of Sid played by Eiel.  The audience were very appreciative and the cast were well deserving of their standing ovation.  Thank you to everyone who came out to support the show.  Bravo!
