U11 CSSP Quicksticks Hockey

Five pupils from Year 6 represented CIS at the Cambridge Schools Sports Partnership Quicksticks Hockey tournament.

The tournament was held at Trumpington Community College under a cloudy but dry sky.  The five pupils, Elisa, Sam, Rebecca, Yuta and Maya faced opposition from 12 different teams.  Each match lasted 5 minutes one way, with a short change over between matches.  The CIS team had a tough draw, playing all their matches back-to-back without a break. However, after a good start winning 1-0, the team continued winning and it was not until their sixth match they had a goal scored against them (in a 4-1 win) and only their eighth match before they faced a loss.

The end result was nine wins, one draw and two losses, an incredible score card!!  The strong results meant that the CIS team finished in second place overall, progressing on to the county finals on Thursday 22nd March.  Well done to the whole team, they showed fantastic skills, teamwork, respect and positivity.
