It is my pleasure to welcome you to Cambridge International School. We are a successful, independent secondary school just outside the beautiful city of Cambridge that welcomes students from any and all nationalities. We are a small school, but fortunate to have students from all over the world; currently boasting 19 different countries and a 70% to 30% international to British ratio.
Here at CIS our mission is to teach our pupils a sense of responsibility, independence, and respect for others through a stimulating and inclusive education. We aim to help our students develop a strong sense of identity, built on intellectual curiosity, emotional resilience and moral purpose. Our school is a happy place with a strong family atmosphere, where friendship matters and where staff and pupils have a mutual respect for each other.
CIS is a vibrant learning community where each individual is highly valued and their unique contribution to the school celebrated. Our approach to pastoral care is based on courtesy, consideration for others, and finding the right balance of support and challenge. The nurturing environment at CIS and our focus on ensuring pupils are happy and cared for well, means that our students go on to achieve great results at GCSE level. Last year we were ranked 10th in the UK for small independent schools for our outstanding results (55% of all exams taken were A/A*’s). We recognise that there is so much more to education than results though, which is why building emotional intelligence, developing growth mindsets, and encouraging extra-curricular involvement are a priority for us.
I would be delighted to personally welcome you to CIS. Please make an appointment to visit us so that you can experience our unique approach to education and witness for yourself the values that we embody.
Mr Joel Dixon
